High Noon Recalls Vodka Seltzers After Mislabeling as Celsius Energy Drinks

By Zamal Uddin

High Noon, a leading hard seltzer brand in the United States, has issued a nationwide recall of its vodka seltzers after a packaging error led to cans being mislabeled as Celsius energy drinks. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed the recall on Wednesday, warning consumers of potential unintentional alcohol consumption.

⚠️ What Happened?

According to the FDA, certain 12-pack High Noon Beach Variety Packs—distributed between July 21 and July 23, 2025—contained vodka seltzer cans packaged inside Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink cans (Sparkling Blue Razz Edition).

This labeling mix-up occurred because both High Noon and Celsius share a third-party packaging supplier, which mistakenly shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon’s production facility. As a result, these cans were filled with 4.5% ABV vodka seltzer but labeled as non-alcoholic energy drinks.

🛒 States Affected

The recalled packs were shipped to retailers in:

  • Florida

  • New York

  • Ohio

  • South Carolina

  • Virginia

  • Wisconsin

🔍 How to Identify the Recalled Products

Consumers are advised to carefully check the lot codes and lid colors:

  • Celsius Energy Drink Cans:

    • Affected lot codes: L CCB 02JL25 2:55 – 3:11

🥤 Why This Matters

Celsius energy drinks typically contain 200–270 mg of caffeine, designed for fitness enthusiasts and energy seekers. Accidentally consuming vodka seltzer mislabeled as Celsius can lead to unexpected alcohol ingestion, posing safety risks—especially for underage individuals or those avoiding alcohol.

High Noon has been one of the top-selling spirit brands in the U.S. since 2022, known for its vodka-and-fruit-juice-based beverages. Meanwhile, Celsius has grown in popularity among Gen Z consumers, even making its way into Capitol Hill offices.

📝 Company Response

Celsius confirmed that it is working with High Noon’s parent company, Gallo, and the packaging supplier to investigate the incident. No illnesses or injuries have been reported so far.

The FDA continues to monitor the recall, ensuring that mislabeled products are removed from shelves.

✅ Key Takeaways for Consumers

  • Check lot codes and lids before consuming any Celsius Astro Vibe drinks.

  • Do not drink any mislabeled cans containing alcohol.

This recall highlights the importance of quality control in beverage production, especially when multiple brands share suppliers.
