Freed Hostage Reveals Shocking Details of Gaza Tunnel Captivity with Evyatar David

A recently released Israeli hostage, Tal Shoham, has described harrowing conditions inside a Hamas tunnel where hostages, including Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa-Dalal, are being held. Shoham, who was freed in February, confirmed that the tunnel shown in recent Hamas propaganda videos is the same underground location where he was previously detained.
🏚️ Inside the Hamas Tunnel
In an interview with Channel 12, Shoham recounted the dire conditions:
“That is exactly the same tunnel where [released hostage] Omer [Wenkert], Evyatar, Guy, and I were held,” Shoham said.
Shoham expressed deep shock at David’s deteriorated state in the newly released video:
“He looks broken mentally and emotionally. The joy of life I once saw in his eyes is completely gone. He’s just a shell of the Evyatar I knew.”

While the video shows only a small portion of the tunnel, Shoham revealed there’s much more hidden from the camera:

Behind the curtain: Guy Gilboa-Dalal is likely confined, unable to move to other parts of the tunnel.

Behind the cameraman: A secured iron door leads to a well-lit room where Hamas terrorists stay.
According to Shoham:

The militants have air conditioning, cable TV, and plenty of food.

The food is allegedly stolen from humanitarian aid shipments meant for civilians.

Hamas fighters openly bragged about having months of supplies stored in the tunnels.

Shoham’s testimony sheds light on the ongoing hostage crisis in Gaza, exposing stark contrasts between the dire conditions for hostages and the comfortable setup for Hamas operatives underground.
The propaganda videos released by Hamas on August 1, 2025, have heightened concerns for Evyatar David’s safety, as his physical and mental health appear to be worsening.
