The game started brightly for the Gunners, as Victoria Pelova opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a fine finish after a long pass from Emily Fox. However, Spurs equalised soon after through Bethany England, who capitalised on a defensive mistake to level the game at 1-1.

Arsenal regained the lead before halftime when Alessia Russo’s cross was mistakenly turned into the net by Charli Grant, giving the home side a 2-1 advantage at the break.
